For your daily walk and growth in Christ

Ever feel lacking in life?

by | Mar 30, 2022

We all feel lacking at times. With Easter approaching, here’s a poignant and life-changing scene from the cross of Christ:

“…Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), ‘I thirst.’ A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth.”

– John 19:28-29

Jesus didn’t die for us to have a better temporal circumstance, better behavior, or better attitude. He died so that we might live from Christ as our Life.

He isn’t just the One who gives us life. He is the Life we get.

God is certainly sovereign in every circumstance, but He does not raise us with Christ to walk in newness of circumstance, but in newness of Life in Jesus!

He drank the vinegar of your sin so you could enjoy the rich wine of His Spirit.

The application then is pretty simple, isn’t it? DRINK!

Drink deeply from Him. Live for and from Him. Enjoy Him. Dive deeply into the abundant, overflowing grace of God in Christ.

My friends, don’t live for God transactionally for what you can get from Him. Live for Him out of the overflow of all you have and all you are relationally in Christ. That is the life of faith!

You will never be satisfied with anything less than all you have in Him already by grace.

All that we long for from the world is a cheap imitation of the sufficiency and overabundance of Christ as our Life. All that Christ has for us is for our complete satisfaction, our deepest contentment, by grace alone.

Drink deeply of Him this week –

…celebrating His perfect, finished work for and within you.

ridiculously graced…

-mike.
