Hi folks – just wanted to share a few thoughts on what God is up to in all of our lives.

Robert Frost said, “I am not a teacher, but an awakener.”

All of God’s revelation is relational, not informational – it’s personal. What’s that mean? He takes something that is true that you’ve agreed with Him about, and by His Spirit wielding His Word reveals it as Truth within your personal circumstance. God isn’t just loving, but God loves you right here right now. He’s never loved you less, and He can never love you more. He’s all in with you right now. When you see how loved you are, it’s more than a well thought out idea. It’s personal!

What is informational, only becomes transformational, by first becoming relational.

In other words – as God shows you how loved and Christ-confident, and secure, and treasured you really are as New Creation child, it changes how you feel about your relationship with Him and that changes everything.

My friends, God is The Awakener!

He first reveals what is true in His Word – and He even uses people like me and you to share those propositions from His Word – and then He awakens your spirit to the Truth of those propositions within you and in your circumstances.

For instance, He might first show you that identity in Christ means we don’t have to be defensive when someone rejects us, because they were never our source of affirmation or justification to begin with. That’s propositional. It’s great information.

But THEN He wields that as Truth within our heart and in our immediate circumstances in the midst of our trying to be justified or win an argument with a spouse or look good to a boss, or getting angry with a family member or friend. He awakens us to the reality of the proposition personally, and at that moment we choose not just to believe that proposition, but to TRUST HIM because of it instead of living from that old lying belief of striving! From propositional idea to personal revelation, and from positional truth to practical living – this is relational not just rational Truth in our experience. Everything changes when we are awakened by God’s Spirit to something true being true of me with God.

He makes propositionally true statements come to life as Truth within our relationship with Him as our Father. Not just that God is love and forgiving and good, but He loves YOU right now. He’s not just forgiving, but you are truly debt free, forgiven now in Christ. He isn’t just good, but He is being good to you today, both in ways you can and cannot see. As we walk with Him personally as the Way, we come to know Truth practically, and know His Life experientially. His propositional truth becomes relationally real as we receive His quickening and revelation from within toward us individually.

God really is The Great Awakener!! He isn’t just showing you truth; He is showing you Himself, and you, and the world in which you are operating. He is awakening you to the reality of His life. That’s revelation that brings transformation. And we get to be His alarm clocks that He uses to awaken one another to the divine Life already ours in Christ. I can tell you what time it is, but God Himself awakens and empowers you to get up and walk in the truth.

And as we are awakened to His Life by grace, He wants to use us – you and me – to wake others up to His Light and Life!!

Our Father even now is awakening us from His Word:

“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
 
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.” (Is. 60:1-2)

My friend, are you ready? Are you being awakened? Is what you have known to be true becoming real in your heart and mind and experience? Let’s receive and walk in His Light today. For us and those He leads our way.
