“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” – 1 John 4:12

God’s very character – His divine nature – is made manifest when we respond selflessly, and not self-righteously, to one another, especially in times of crisis and vulnerability.

On rare occasion, someone has an opportunity to take advantage of another’s vulnerability, to act out of self-justifying offensiveness or defensiveness, or even just exercise power at another’s expense; but instead, they sacrificially avail themselves to another person for their benefit.  Instead of being as hurtful as they might, they extend grace in love. It’s the most powerful force in the world!

Do you want to know Divine Love?  Give when you don’t have to, listen when it’s not warranted, be compassionate when you have every right to crush, and nurture those you could destroy. The result of that miraculous selflessness – God is made known.  How can you express such divine love?  Be willing for Him to do through you what only He is able.

When you are confident in Christ’s sufficiency by grace, you can afford to love like that instead of using and hurting another. And when there is that kind of sacrificial availability, His grace abounds to glory.

You might be the window to God’s grace and Christ’s Life for His renown in someone else’s circumstances today, or tomorrow, or next week.

…And any day God moves and reveals Himself like that is a really good day.
