Psalms 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may present to you heart of wisdom.“
I’m amazed by the wisdom of God in David’s prose, at times. He does not ask that God will teach us to increase our days; he doesn’t ask that God would show us how to improve our days; these are the desires of temporal and worldly thinking. Instead, he simply asks that we would learn to number our days, to know, even embrace, our limitations. David says this knowing that to count our days and recognize our limitations in humility and submission is true wisdom that leads to availability, which is our truest worship.
Maybe today we can seek God’s wisdom for our limitations, so that we may come to know and express His glory by grace within our finite circumstances.
Make that your prayer, and watch the eternal reality of life in Christ be put on display in you and through you for His name’s sake!
By His grace alone, through faith alone, for His glory alone.
ridiculously graced…
